- His mother bought him a trampoline when he was 7 years old and that was the first time when Tanner started flipping.
- He has had a natural aptitude for athletics since his early childhood. By the time Tanner turned 12, he had played almost every accessible sport in his hometown which included wrestling, baseball, basketball, and soccer.
